OBIT SANDERSON, ELWOOD MCCUTCHEN JR.

SANDERSON, Elwood McCutchen Jr., 38, of Fairfield, died Saturday, November 25, 1993, at his home in Fairfield. He was born in Rockbridge County on May 29, 1955, the son of Elwood M. Sanderson Sr. and the late Doshie Banks Sanderson. He was employed by Modine Mfg. Co. In addition to his father, he is survived by a son, Desmond Smolen, Waynesboro; two sisters, Nancy Marie Herring, Columbia, S.C. and Susie Durette, Staunton; one brother, George M. Sanderson, Waynesboro. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, at Rising Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm Tuesday at Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
