ROANOKE MAN HELD IN BANK ROBBERY

Roanoke police detectives and FBI agents converged on a Roanoke house and arrested a man early Wednesday in connection with the Nov. 22 robbery of the First National Bank of Rocky Mount on Hershberger Road.

Brian Edward Hall, 24, was arrested without resistance at his residence on Bennett Drive Northwest, according to Roanoke police. He was taken into custody on an outstanding federal warrant, police said.

Tuesday, before the arrest was made, police said they believed the same robber hit the Crestar bank branch on Melrose Avenue Northwest on Tuesday just before noon.

Police officials - while not ruling out the same suspect is responsible for both heists - said Wednesday afternoon that charges have not been filed in the Crestar robbery.
