AAUW ANNOUNCES FALL FUND-RAISER

The Blacksburg Branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its annual fall fund-raising sale Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 pm., and Sunday, 1-5 p.m., at Bonomo's on University City Boulevard.

Pecan pieces, pecan halves, maple syrup and classic AAUW calendars will be available. Items also are available by calling Jean Phillips, 552-2655, or Lindsay West, 552-2023.

Proceeds will benefit the AAUW Educational Foundation, whose contributions advance education, research and self development for women. The foundation grants fellowships totaling more than $2 million each year. The foundation also awards fellowships to teachers who demonstrate a commitment to educational equity for girls.

Last year, the Blacksburg Branch donated $1,000 to this scholarship program.
