MENTAL-HEALTH ADDRESS CHANGE

The Mental Health Association of Montgomery County has changed its name and its address.

The association is a nonprofit informational and referral organization that promotes mental health and the prevention of mental illness.

Recently, the organization changed its name to the Mental Health Association of the New River Valley and has extended its service area to include other counties in the New River Valley.

The office was moved Nov. 20 to Christiansburg, a more central location than its previous Blacksburg address. The association is at 205 W. Main St., office 3, which is handicapped-accessible.

Besides a new name and a new address, the association also has a new executive director. Amy Forsyth-Stephens replaced Lacy Cundiff, who left to work for New River Valley Hospice.

An open house is being planned for January.

The associations new phone number is 382-5629.
