OBIT KIRKBRIDE, MYRTLE LEE HICKMAN

KIRKBRIDE, Myrtle Lee Hickman, 89, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday, December 1, 1993, in the Riverview Nursing Home following a long illness. Mrs. Kirkbride was born in Glasgow, Va. on January 4, 1904. She was a retired registered nurse and had retired from Giles Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Lewis Kirkbride and a daughter, Peggy Kirkbride Farmer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Betty Kirkbride of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Ruth Oliver of Roanoke; five grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, December 4, 1993, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Jesse Kearns officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Giles Memorial Hospital, 235 South Buchanan Street, Pearisburg, Va. 24134.
