OBIT PAYNE, SALLY

PAYNE, Sally, 86, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, December 1, 1993, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born in Pittsylvania County to the late Matilda Smith. Her husband was the late James Payne. She was a member of the Eighth Street Baptist Church and formerly of First Baptist Church in Salem. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mattie Carter of Lynchburg; four nieces; seven nephews; host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m. from the Eighth Street Baptist Church, Dr. Arthur A. Holmes officiating with interment in the Williams Memorial Park in Roanoke. The family will receive friends at the home, 1010 7th Street, Lynchburg. Arrangements by Carl B. Hutcherson Funeral Home.
