LONGTIME OFFICIALS HONORED

The Western Virginia Football Officials Association honored 15 officials and three timers with a quarter-century or more of service at the association's recent banquet.

George Saul, with 41 years in the WVFOA, is the senior official in point of service, followed by Jim Saul Haupt with 38 years.

Other officials honored for their work were Jim Barley (25 years), Doug Beatty (28), Garland Berry (28), Bob Gray (25), Jim Gresham (31), Bobby Hall (34), Martin Halstead (37), Glenn Harris of Christiansburg (27), Ken Keith (32), Don Linkous of Blacksburg (28), Johnny Martin of Covington (25), Fred Reese of Hot Springs (27) and James Vincent of Danville (30).

Timers with 25 or more years of service are Tom Feazell (38), Bobby Hall (34) and Whitey Lambert (25).
