The exhibit, which reflects mainly the period from the 1890s through the 1950s, is in the the main first floor exhibit hall through December.
Mary Crockett Hill, museum director, put the exhibit together with vintage Christmas cards, toys, dolls, clothes and other items from the period. Some of the items were in the museum's collection of artifacts and others are on loan from people in the community, she said.
To introduce the exhibit, the museum will hold an open house on the opening day from noon to 7 p.m. with refreshments between 6 and 7.
The museum is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
