RECEIVER NOW WANTS TO GIVE

Dorothy Guthrie's son-in-law had open-heart surgery just over a year ago. Thanks to medical assistance provided by Roanoke Area Ministries, "his health is fully restored, and he's back on his feet again," she said.

Guthrie, who describes herself as a senior citizen with a fixed income, gave to the Good Neighbors fund in return for what RAM house did for her daughter and son-in-law.

Apologetic for not giving more, Guthrie believes that if everyone gives just a little, the needy could have so much more.

Harry Williams and his wife, too, have been stricken with various health problems in the past year. Even while dealing with their own medical expenses, Williams says, "I realize there are people who are worse off than we are."
