OBIT EATON, JOE HOGE
EATON, Joe Hoge, 76, of Bland, died Thursday, December 2, 1993, in a Wythe
County Hospital. He was born May 8, 1917 at Thessalia, Va., the son of the
late Robert Glenn Eaton and Minnie Sue Johnson Eaton. He was preceded in death
by a daughter, Jean Hoge Eaton. He was a member of the Central United
Methodist Church, the Bland County Memorial V.F.W. Post #7969 and was a Navy
veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maxine Burroughs Eaton; two
sons, Robert Glenn Eaton and James Hoge (Jerry) Eaton, both of Bland; one
daughter, Mrs. Linda Earls, Bland; four grandchildren, Glenn Eaton, Audrey
Graham, Justin Eaton and James Robert Hoge Eaton; one stepgrandson, Brian
Earls; one great-grandchild, Zachary Glenn Eaton. Funeral services will be 11
a.m. Saturday at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joe
Taylor officiating. Military graveside rites in the Eatons Chapel Cemetery,
Bane. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8
p.m.
