OBIT POLLARD, ETTA H.

POLLARD, Etta H. ("Jackie"), of Fredericksburg, formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday, December 2, 1993, at the age of 83. She was the widow of James O. ("Buss") Pollard Jr. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pollard is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara P. and Hugh W. Bernard of State College, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James R. and Pat W. Pollard of Fredericksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Sharon B. Haley of Philadelphia, Pa., Tracy P. Damico of Lakeridge, Va. and Scott Pollard of Orlando, Fla.; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sally Inge of Derwood, Md., Mary H. and Neil Johnson of Columbia, N.C. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, December 4, 1993, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating, with burial to follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation Fund of Calvary Baptist Church.
