The Hokies will practice today, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before breaking for exams. They will hold six more workouts before leaving campus Dec. 22 for Christmas. They leave for Shreveport on Dec. 27.
Jimmy Satterfield, who guided Furman to the NCAA Division I-AA football championship in 1988, has resigned as head coach.
The Paladins finished 5-5-1 this season - the first time during Satterfield's eight years as head coach that Furman did not have a winning record. His overall mark was 66-29-3. The Greenville, S.C., school won three Southern Conference titles during his tenure.
The Roanoke Valley Sports Club's monthly dinner meeting is Wednesday at the Salem Civic Center and will preview the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, scheduled for Dec. 11 at Salem Stadium.
Among the guest speakers scheduled are Wayne Burrow, an assistant director of NCAA championships, and James "Moose" Malmquist, chairman of the NCAA Division III football committee.
