OBIT BOHON, BRUCE MONROE
BOHON, Bruce Monroe, 97 of Salem, died Friday, December 3, 1993. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Lula M. Bohon; grandson, James Bohon;
granddaughter, Deborah Landes. He was retired from Virginia N & W Railroad
with 50 years of service; also a member of The Fort Lewis Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, R. M. Bohon, Bruce E. and Virginia
Bohon all of Salem, Albert D. and Cerita Bohon of Chesapeake; daughters and
sons-in-law, Geneva B. and George Sowder of Hinton, W. Va., Almeta B. and
Glenn Landes of Roanoke; sister, Roxie Durfey of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12
grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held on Monday, December 6, 1993, noon at the John M. Oakey &
Son Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Southern officiating. Burial
will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on
Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Fort Lewis
Rescue Squad or The Fort Lewis Baptist Church.
