OBIT FULCHER, SHERIDAN LEE

FULCHER, Sheridan Lee, 76, of Roanoke, died Thursday, December 2, 1993. Mr. Fulcher retired as personnel manager at Kroger Company with 47 years of service. He was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to Williamson Road Lodge #163 AF & AM, and was a member of the Kazim Fire Brigade Unit, and Kazim Shrine Club. Mr. Fulcher was on the board of directors of Junior Achievement Club for many years. He volunteered at RAM House and at Habitat for Humanity, member of Personnel Association of Roanoke, member of Virginia and Roanoke Chambers of Commerce. He also served on the Distributive Education Advisory Board and the Concord College Business Advisory Committee and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Fulcher was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Marie Moore Fulcher in 1975. Surviving are a daughter, Ann-Marie Fulcher Dixon, and husband, Joe, Leesburg; two sons, David Lee Fulcher, Roanoke, Mark Sheridan Fulcher, and wife, Patricia, Richmond; a brother, Richard Fulcher and wife Marie, Rocky Mount; four sisters, Ruth Nichols and husband, Luther, Coeburn, Mary Elizabeth Sharpe and husband, Rev. Charles Sharpe, of Bowie, Md., Dorothy Newsom and husband, Lester, Coeburn, and Barbara McCloud, Enon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Matthew Dixon, Evelyn Dixon, and Peter Dixon, all of Leesburg, Sheridan Fulcher, Richmond; a special friend, Betty Dogan, Roanoke. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. All family and friends are invited to St. John Lutheran Church, 4608 Brambleton Ave. S.W., Roanoke, for visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Monday and luncheon at the church at 11:30 a.m. and funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Mark Graham, the Rev. Charles Sharpe and Pastor David Delaney will officiate. Interment with Masonic Memorial Service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, following the church service. Memorials may be made to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, Greenville, S.C. or to St. John Lutheran Church, Cave Spring.
