FLOOR MAKER BUYS IN FAIRVIEW PARK

The J.J. Haines Co., a national distributor of flooring material, has bought 10 acres in the Fairview Industrial Park for $53,490 for a 34,000-square-foot building.

It will employ about 55 people and merge three of its sales and distribution facilities at Wytheville when construction is complete. The other facilities are now located in Roanoke, Bristol and Lexington, N.C.

The company, with headquarters in Maryland, distributes Armstrong and other flooring-related products.

The Wytheville facility will be involved mainly in warehousing and trucking work. Plans are to have it completed by March.
