RESCUE SQUAD HONORS STALEYS

For more than 25 years, Jerry Staley of Staley Signs in Wytheville has been doing the numbering and lettering of all the ambulances, boats, emergency trucks and other Wythe County Rescue Squad vehicles as a service to the squad.

Now the squad has made him an honorary member, one of only four people to receive this honor since the squad was established in 1948.

Staley has painted signs on more than 25 squad vehicles over the years. He and his wife, Jean, were presented a membership plaque by squad members.
