Butch W. and Kelly W. Bowles are pleased to announce the engagement of
their mother, Venie Carter Bowles, to G. Roger Barton. They plan to be married
in the spring of 1994. She is a daughter of Lillian A. Carter and Mr. John T.
Carter, both of Roanoke. She was graduated from Jefferson Senior High School.
She is employed by Disability Determination, Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a
son of Thelma Haupt of Roanoke and the late Charlie Richard (Bill) Barton of
Goodview. He was graduated from Jefferson Senior High School and is employed
by the City of Roanoke and the Roanoke City School System.
