MCBRIDE-RAKES

Mr. and Mrs. William E. McBride, Jr. of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Lisa, to Mr. Michael Anderson Rakes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl. H. Rakes, also of Roanoke.

Miss McBride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wilmer K. Croy of Amherst, Virginia, and the late Mr. Croy and Mrs. Robert L. Bonifant of Silver Spring, Maryland, and the late Mr. Bonifant. Her great-grandmother is Mrs. Lois Wooding Mitchell of Bethesda, Maryland.

Mr. Rakes is the grandson of Mrs. Beverly D. Rakes of Roanoke and the late Mr. Rakes and Mrs. Eddie Lee Murray of Roanoke and the late Mr. Murray.

Miss McBride is a graduate of Northside High School and received a degree in Political Science from Bridgewater College. She is employed by Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore.

Mr. Rakes is also a graduate of Northside High School. He received a degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnical Institute & State University. He is employed by Spectrum Engineers.

An October 1994 wedding is planned at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
