HOLLEY-PICKEL

Laura Katherine Pickel and Richard Durward Holley were united in marriage November 27, 1993, at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Scott Carter of Valley Reformed Presbyterian Church officiating. A reception in the couple's honor was held at Hunting Hills Country Club immediately following the evening ceremony.

Beth Shaffer of Pulaski, was the matron of honor, and the groom's father, Ray Holley, was the best man. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Julie Pearson of Atlanta; the groom's sister, Debbie Studtmann of Roanoke; and friends of the bride, Anna Fawthrop of New Canaan, Conn. and Heather Armstrong Cassida of Charlottesville. The groom's cousin, Randi Dunbar, was the flower girl. Groomsmen were the groom's brother-in-law, George Studtmann of Roanoke; the groom's cousin, Doug McGhee of Barboursville, W.Va.; Everett Kier of Salem and Steve Honberger of San Diego, Calif. Ellen Hannon acted asdirector, and Debbie Kier was the soloist.

The bride's gown was of diamond white, floral-embossed satin. Its sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and bustle bow were trimmed in pearls, and a chapel-length train flowed from the dropped waistline. Her beaded Juliet cap held a pearl-trimmed, chapel-length blusher illusion veil, and a floor-length detachable veil extended the line of the headpiece to meet the gown's train at the hemline.

A graduate of Cave Spring High School and Geneva College (Pa.), the brideis a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Max Pickel of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray K. Hughes of Eastpointe, Mich., Mrs. Wanda Pickel of Anderson, Ind., and the late Mr. Hershel W. Pickel.

The groom, who was graduated from Roanoke Valley Christian School andV irginia Tech, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ray Holley of Salem. He is a grandson of Mrs. Virginia Holley of Roanoke, the late Mr. Richard Holley, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Cunningham.

The couple will reside in Falls Church, Va.
