OBIT MOORE, CECIL LEONARD

MOORE, Cecil Leonard, ("Dutch"), 77, of Rt. 3, Case Knife Rd., Pulaski, passed away Saturday, December 4, 1993, in the V. A. Medical Center, Salem, Va. Born June 12, 1916 in Carroll County, Va., he was the son of the late John Moore and Lurinda Hollingsworth Moore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ethel Ayers Moore, and a number of sisters and brothers. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in WWII on the USS Wisconsin. He was a lifetime member of the Pulaski VFW Post #1184, Pulaski, Va. and a member of the American Legion Post #7, Pulaski. He was a retiredtruck driver for Baker Drive-A-Way, with 29 years of service. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Peggy Ann) Speed of Troutville, Va. and Mrs. Billy (Sharon Dawn) Myers of Troutville, Va.; three sons, Cecil Amon Moore, Hagerstown, Md., Jerry Wayne Moore, Pulaski, Va., Danny Ford, Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Bentley of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow in the Highlands Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Visiting will be anytime Sunday after 5 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Pulaski VFW Post #1184. The family will be meeting at the home, Rt. 3, Case Knife Rd., Pulaski, where friends may call at anytime. Arrangements by Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.
