OBIT RAKES, SALLIE HUDSON

RAKES, Sallie Hudson, 101, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, December 8, 1993 in the Eldercare of Franklin County Nursing Home. She was the widow of W. Eldee Rakes and was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Fannie Fisher Hudson. Surviving is one sister, Mary H. (Mae) Kingery of Roanoke; nieces who cared for her, Emily Lynch, Mary Williams, Martha Divers, Nancy Naff, Frances Dooley; and a number of other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at The Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Dr. Joe R. Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in High Street Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lynch Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening.
