OBIT AKERS, CHARLES LEROY

AKERS, Charles Leroy, 80, of Underwood Street, Christiansburg, died Tuesday, December 7, 1993, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Alfreda Bower Akers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Daniel Sutphin, Christiansburg, Jean and Don Sires, Lynnwood, Wa.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie and Brenda Akers, Durham, N.C., Richard and Judy Akers, Virginia Beach; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver Jr. with burial in Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd. The family suggests anyone desiring to make a memorial do so to the Christiansburg Rescue, Box 176, Christiansburg, 24073. Friends may call Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home and the family will receive friends there from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
