ROBERT M. LINDAMOOD of Hatcher Trucking Co. Inc. of Roanoke has received second place in the American Trucking Association Safety Management Council Safety Contest.

Lindamood, who has worked full time for Hatcher Trucking Co. for two years, competed in the general commodities/local division, up to 5 million miles category.

The program is conducted annually by the council in recognition of motor carriers' achievements in traffic and employee safety.

\ VIRGINIA INDUSTRIAL PLATING SERVICES INC. of Roanoke received the 1993 Administrator's Award for Excellence certificate from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The firm, which has been in operation for two years, was nominated by General Electric Drive Systems Operation in Salem.

The Small Business Administration honors small businesses in joint government/industry projects each year.

\ ROANOKE AIRPORT MARRIOTT won best entry in the Keep Virginia Beautiful Inc. Landscape Excellence Awards Program.

The hotel competed in the commercial and municipal maintenance category. This is the third year it has received the award.

\ PETROLEUM MARKETERS INC. of Roanoke has received a presidential award from CITGO Petroleum Corp. for outstanding service to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.

Petroleum Marketers, which raised more than $80,000 in its 1993 campaign, is a co-sponsor in CITGO's national sponsorship of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

CITGO and its distributors have raised more than $11.5 million in contributions and pledges during their eight-year sponsorship.
