OBIT DOWDY, LEWIS CONRAD
DOWDY, Lewis Conrad, 52, of Salem, died Wednesday, December 8, 1993, at
Lewis Gale Hospital. He was a retired electrician, with 35 years of service
with the Roanoke County School System and was also a member of First United
Methodist Church. He was a life-member of the National Rifle Association and
was on the Board of Directors of the Ridge Rifle Association and a member of
the Christiansburg Isaac Walton League. Survivors include a brother, William
M. Dowdy, Salem; a nephew, Kevin M. Dowdy, Salem; an uncle, L. A. Maury and
his family, Salem. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, at
1 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel, Salem. Burial will follow in East
Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home
from 7 to 9 p.m.
