OBIT-SWISHER, JOHN EDWARD
SWISHER, John Edward, 50, of 810 North Daniel Creek Road, Collinsville,
passed away Friday, December 10, 1993, at Memorial Hospital of
Martinsville-Henry County after a lengthy illness of cancer. He is survived by
his wife, Trudy Jones Swisher of the home; his mother, Helen McMillan Swisher
of Axton; a sister, Dora Mae Lawrence of Spencer; brother-in-law, Lonnie
Shelor of Madison, N.C.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Jones of Henry; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father,
Lawrence Swisher and a sister, Barbara Shelor. He was retired from the E. I.
DuPont, Martinsville with 27 years service. Mr. Swisher was a member of
Beckham United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, from
the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Martinsville. The Rev. Virgil Soots will
officiate. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McKee Funeral Home and other times at the
home in Collinsville.
