FRANKLIN-AHRENS

Laurie Elise Ahrens and Dean Franklin were married October 23, 1993, at their home on Maiden Lane. The double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Edward Woodard, uncle of the groom. The bride wore a white poet's shirt and denim skirt. The groom wore a black blazer, white T-shirt and jeans. The reception also held at their house included music by Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers and Led Zepplin's "Thank You" as the couple's first dance.

Laurie is the daughter of Herbert and Anita Ahrens of Smithtown, N. Y. She graduated from James Madison University and is employed at ETS Analytical Services. Dean is the son of Stuart and Edna Franklin of Roanoke, Va. He graduated from Cave Spring High School and is employed with Orkin Exterminating, Inc.

Laurie and Dean would like to thank all who help with preparing the house and the refreshments for their special day, and especially Laurie's brother, John, for the beautiful cake.
