SLUSHER-CONNER

Linnette Gale Conner and WesleyAllen Slusher were united in marriage on October 16, 1993, at Stonewall Church. Reverend Robert Crawford officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride, a 1993 graduate of Floyd County High School, is employed by Texaco Food Mart in Christiansburg. She is the daughter of Wm. Michael and EvelynConner of Check, and the granddaughter of Wm. Marvin and Lillie Conner of Check and Harold and Barbara Newman ofBedford.

The groom, a 1990 graduate of Christiansburg High School, is employed byShelor Chevrolet in Christiansburg. He is the son of Clinton and Judy Slusher of Christiansburg, and the grandson of Lula Slusher of Floyd and Ruby Wood ofChristiansburg.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and was escorted by herfather.

The bride chose Candy Moles of Pulaski to be her maid of honor. Angela Cox Duncan and Carmen Wood of Floyd, were her bridesmaids.

The groom chose Leroy Harman of Fairlawn to be his best man. James Newman of Bedford, and Darrin Slusher, the groom's brother, were his groomsmen.

Crystal Lucas, daughter of Douglas and Karen Lucas of Check, served as the flower girl and Ryan Newman of Bedford, the son of Harold and Barbara Newman, served as the ring bearer.

Wanda Wirt of Christiansburg, played a variety of wedding music before and after the ceremony. Rosemary Powley of Blacksburg served as wedding director.

The reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. The two-tier heart shaped cake included four smaller heart shaped satellite cakes, was prepared for the couple by the bride's mother and was served by the bride's sisters, Deana and Debra Conner.

The couple are making their home in Christiansburg.
