OBIT GAULDIN, LARRY JOSEPH
GAULDIN, Larry Joseph, 50, of Rt. 2, Rocky Mount, died Saturday, December
11, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born August 2,
1943, to the late Joe T. Gauldin and Eunice V. Gauldin, he was a lifelong
resident of Henry County. He was co-founder and partner of Mechanical and
Plumbing, Inc. for 8 years. Prior to this, he was employed with Prillaman and
Pace for 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Martinsville, a member
of Fontaine Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School and
was a veteran of the Army. Surviving in addition to his mother are three sons,
Chad J. Gauldin of the home, Eddie Gauldin and Roy Lee Gauldin, both of Swords
Creek; four brothers, David T. Gauldin of Waynesboro, Robert S. Gauldin of
Matthews, N.C., Timothy A. Gauldin of Collinsville and Garfid M. Gauldin of
Martinsville; two grandchildren and a very special friend, Ann Evans. Funeral
services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Collins Funeral Service Chapel in
Bassett, with the Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn
Burial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at
Collins Chapel in Bassett. McKee Funeral Services of Martinsville is in charge
of arrangements.
