OBIT GOBER, SADIE JOHNSTON
GOBER, Sadie Johnston, 90, a long time resident of Lynchburg, died
Saturday, December 11, 1993, in a High Point, N.C. nursing home. She was the
widow of Powell Clifton Gober. Born in Rome, Ga., she was a daughter of the
late Edward Edmund Johnston and Mary Elizabeth Carver Johnston. Mrs. Gober was
a charter member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church of Lynchburg. She is survived
by a son, Robert Clifton Gober of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter, Nancy Ruth
Gober Kempf of Vinton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A
graveside service will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Fort Hill Memorial
Park by the Rev. John R. Kempf. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9
p.m. today at Whitten Timberlake Chapel located at 7404 Timberlake Road,
Lynchburg.
