OBIT MEARKLE, MAIE G.
MEARKLE, Maie G., 95, of Roanoke, died Sunday, December 12, 1993, in
Friendship Manor. She was the widow of Russell Spear Mearkle and was preceded
in death by a brother, Gregory O. Givens Jr. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs.
Aleen Reedy, Roanoke, Mrs. Dorothy Baker, Newport Richy, Fla., Mrs. Kathleen
White, Daytona Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Virginia Klinefelter, Herndon, Va.; a
number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke
Chapel, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 1993, with the Rev. Ronald Mateer and
the Rev. Michael Lyle officiating. Entombment will be in Sherwood Chapel
Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 7
to 9 p.m. Monday.
