OBIT MCCLURE, DOROTHY ELIZABETH

MCCLURE, Dorothy Elizabeth, 56, of 168 Hillcrest Dr., Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday evening, December 11, 1993. She was dedicated to her family and to her faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church, where she was committed to serving others and touched the lives of many. She is deeply loved and greatly missed. Surviving are her husband, Walter V. McClure Sr.; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Vernon and Tammy McClure, Richmond, Allen McClure, Christopher McClure, both of Rocky Mount, Shannon McClure of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Glenn Melhorn, Cary, N.C.; three grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua McClure, Jessica Melhorn; three brothers, Henry Allen, Mechanicsville, Francis Allen, Fredericksburg, Thomas Allen, Yankeetown, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, noon Tuesday, with the Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorials be made to Christian Heritage Academy, 710 Glenwood Dr., Rocky Mount, Va., 24151. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
