OBIT AKER, MRS. MILDRED KNOWLES

AKER, Mrs. Mildred Knowles, 93, of Marion, widow of Walter S. D. Aker, died Sunday, December 12, 1993, in Frances Marion Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Aker retired from Southwestern State Hospital, with 36 years of service. She was superintendent of night nursing. She was an active member of the Marion Baptist Church, working in the Primary Department. She is survived by one granddaughter, Mary Ann Davis of Scottsboro, Ala.; one grandson, Donald W. Hash of Dublin; four sisters-in-law, Alice Holman and Lenora Pennington, both of Marion, Clatie Cook of Federalsburg, Md., and Josephine Ansell of Baltimore, Md.; four great-grandchildren, Tyrell and Shawn Hash, both of Dublin, and Robin and Jason Davis, both of Scottsboro, Ala.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, at 2 p.m., at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with Dr. William A. Slater officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
