FAIRFAX MAN ELECTED TO FIRST UNION BOARD

Directors of First Union National Bank of Virginia have elected a Fairfax real estate broker to the board, the Roanoke-based bank said Tuesday.

Elected was P. Wesley Foster Jr., owner of Long & Foster Real Estate Inc., a 192-office company that brokered $7.4 billion in real estate sales in the mid-Atlantic region in 1992. The company has more than 6,400 sales associates.

Foster also is vice chairman of Barnes, Morris, Pardoe and Foster, a commercial real estate brokerage in Washington, D.C.

He "is a recognized leader in the real estate industry," said Warner Dalhouse, chairman and chief executive officer of First Union Corp. of Virginia. "He understands what a customer wants and he knows how to meet a customer's needs. Those characteristics make him a valuable addition to First Union's Virginia board."
