REPORTED EARNINGS

Revco D.S. Inc., Twinsburg, Ohio, operator of Revco drug stores, on Wednesday reported that second-quarter 1994 sales advanced 12.6 percent and comparable-store sales grew 9.7 percent from the year-ago quarter.

Sales were $546.3 million, up from $485.3 million. Operating profit rose 31.2 percent to $12.2 million from $9.3 million last year. Revenues were $24 million, up 21.8 percent from $19.7 million.

Net income was $3.3 million, or 7 cents per share, up $3.9 million from a net loss of $0.6 million, or 1 cent per share, in the year-ago quarter.

For the fiscal year to date, sales advanced to $1,067.3 million, up 11.4 percent from last year's $958.2 million. Comparable-store sales rose 8.5 percent.

Operating profit rose 51.3 percent, to $23.3 million from $15.4 million. Revenues were $46.8 million, up 30.4 percent from $35.9 million.

Net income was $6 million, or 12 cents per share, up $8.1 million from last year's net loss of $2.1 million, or 6 cents per share.

Heilig-Meyers Co.

Heilig-Meyers Co., Richmond-based home furnishings retailer with stores in Western Virginia, on Wednesday reported record revenues and earnings for the third quarter ended Nov. 30. Net earnings increased 59.9 percent to $15.9 million, or 32 cents per share, compared with $9.9 million, or 22 cents per share, last year. Revenues increased 34.2 percent to $230.4 million from $171.7 million.

For the nine months, net earnings increased 43.4 percent to $40.7 million, or 83 cents per share, from $28.4 million, or 62 cents per share, in the prior year. Revenues rose 30.9 percent to $621.9 million from $475.1 million.
