LOA Area Agency on Aging is offering a free insurance counseling program to help senior citizens understand changes in Medicare premiums and deductibles for 1994.
Counselors trained by the State Corporation Commission Bureau of Insurance are available to to answer questions about Medicare, Medicaid, "Medigap" insurance, and Long-Term Care insurance for persons over 60 and their caregivers.

Roanoker's poem to be published in anthology
Mary H. Harris of Roanoke won fifth place in the Distinguished Poet Awards by Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum.
Harris' poem, "The Beauty of Springtime," will be published in the Summer 1994 edition of "Treasured Poems of America," an anthology of poems from the U.S. and Canada.
