LEAF COLLECTIONS CONTINUE IN VALLEY

Roanoke continues its annual curbside leaf collections next week.

City residents should refer to a map published in the Nov. 4 editions of Neighbors to determine the zone in which they live.

Crews will be in the following zones Monday through Dec. 24: Northwest, Zone 1F; Northeast, Zone 2F; Southwest, Zone 3E; and Southeast, Zone 4F.

Please rake your leaves to the curb by Monday morning. City crews will make only one pass of each side of each street. Loose leaves must be raked into piles beside streets or public highways and must be free of limbs and other foreign materials that might injure collection personnel or damage equipment.

Crews will post red notices in neighborhoods about a week prior to loose-leaf collections, and zone maps also are available at all Roanoke libraries and fire stations. For more information, call 981-2225.
