STORE SERVES MANY NEEDY, BUT NEEDS FUNDS

The Montgomery County Christmas Store exceeded expectations and served 1,258 families this year, but the store still hasn't reached its fund-raising goal.

The store has raised $85,000 of its $97,000 goal, said co-chair Joyce Hendricks.

"We feel very good about what we accomplished this year," she said.

The store, open three days last week, allows families in need to buy clothes and toys with points - not money.

Hendricks said store volunteers will begin shopping for next year's store in January.

"We can always use more donations," she said.
