MURPHEY-MAYS

Carly Mays and Rusty A. Murphey were united in marriage on December 18, 1993 in North Roanoke Baptist Church. Rev. Daryl Crim was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

Becky Barrett, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Ginny Young, friend of the bride; Michelle Murphey, sister of the groom; Beth Fogelgren and Tamara Lemon, cousins. Catherine White, friend, was the flowergirl. Hunter Murphey served as his son's best man. The ushers were Tommy Mays, brother of the bride; Zachery Scott, Nick Varelous and Costa Farmakis, friends. Sherry Kendrick was the guestbook attendant.

The bride's gown was handmade by the bride, the bride's mother and the groom's mother.

Carly is the daughter of James T. and Jean T. Mays of Glen Allen, Va. She is a graduate of Northside High School and attended Virginia Western. She is employed by First Baptist Church of Roanoke. Rusty is the son of Hunter and Ina Murphey of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Virginia Western and is employed by First Union Bank.

The newlyweds will reside in Roanoke.
