OBIT-BOWLING, LUTHER H.

BOWLING, Luther H., 76, of Fairless Hills, Pa., died Friday, December 17, 1993 at the Delaware Valley Medical Center. He was born in Bedford Co., Va. and resided in Pennsylvania for the past 41 years. He was an electrician before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows of Roanoke, the Gothic Lodge #270 F & A.M., and the First Baptist Church of Levittown and Fairless Hills. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 269 of Trenton, N.J. and Local 637 in Roanoke. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hudson Bowling; sons, James Bowling of Hillsgrove, Pa., Adrain Bowling of Levittown, Pa.; daughters, Arlene Ray of Fairless Hills, Pa., Juleece Doey of Wayne, Pa. and Joy Marsden of Levittown, Pa.; brothers, Buford Bowling of Madison Heights, Va.; James Bowling of Gretna, Osman Bowling of Bedford, Persing Bowling of Thaxton, Warren Bowling of Roanoke, Walter (Sam) Bowling of Hardy, Va.; sisters, Lena Boerner of Covington, Laura Sink, Virginia Anderson, Dester Poage and Katherine Spradlin, all of Roanoke, Joyce Cooper, Salem, Va.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel, Roanoke, with Rev. John Ott of Parkway Wesleyan Church officiating. Calling hours will be before the service. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
