OBIT-SHEPHERD, MAGGIE NESTER

SHEPHERD, Maggie Nester, 92, of Hillsville, passed away, Friday, December 17, 1993, in Twin County Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County March 22, 1901, a daughter of the late Isaac Nester and Mahala Webb Nester of Laurel Fork. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cleophus Shepherd; a son, Bobby H. Shepherd and a special great-granddaughter, Erin Alderman. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Georgie and Drura Alderman of Hillsville; a daughter-in-law, Opaline Shepherd, Salem; granddaughter and husband, Sue and Kelly Collins, Hillsville; grandson, Phillip Shepherd, Newport News; stepgrandson and wife, Harlen and Betty Alderman, Boyce, La.; great-granddaughter, Mamie Collins, Hillsville; stepgreat-granddaughter, Christi Andrews, Boyce, La. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 20, 1993, 11 a.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, with the Rev. Hebron Quesinberry, Rev. Clarence Marshall and Rev. Edith Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Virginia.
