RELATIONS MANAGER NAMED

Tom Green will be community relations manager for parts of Southwest Virginia and western North Carolina for Sprint/Mid-Atlantic Telecom.

Green, who lives in Wytheville, will be responsible for public relations in Wytheville, Galax, Hillsville and the North Carolina communities of Pilot and Mount Airy.

``Since 1963, Tom has been a valued member of the Sprint/United Telephone team,'' said Warren Sanders, regional public affairs manager. ``Given his broad background in the field of telephony, he will be an invaluable asset to the communities he serves.''

Green had worked as a commercial representative, commercial office manager and customer services manager with the company before joining its corporate communications department.
