OBIT FRIED, IRVING
FRIED, Irving, 80, of Salem, died Saturday, December 18, 1993 at the Salem
V. A. Medical Center. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and for the past several
years, worked at Food Lion. He was a member of the Salem Church of Christ and
was an Army WWII veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mary Della Taylor Fried;
three stepsons, Chuck E. Taylor, Steven M. Taylor and Kendall W.Taylor, all of
Roanoke; a stepdaughter, Teresa T. Thrush, Elliston; two brothers, David H.
Fried, Boca Raton, Fla., and Phil Fried, Delray Beach, Fla.; and several
stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 1993
at 2 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem with the Rev. Scott
Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The famly
will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu
of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Salem Church of
Christ Memorial Fund, 401 Main St., West Salem, Va. 24153.
