OBIT SIMMONS, DELIA FIELDS
SIMMONS, Delia Fields, 101, of Roanoke, died Sunday morning, December 19,
1993 at her home. She was the widow of George Edward Simmons and a charter
member of Westhampton Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Melba
Simmons of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Maria Simmons of
Houston, Texas; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sheron and John Drew of
Dallas, Texas, Sandra and Col. Dave Allard of Brazilia; four
great-grandchildren; also surviving are a number of nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday with
the Rev. Paul Matheny officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View
Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel.
