OBIT MITCHELL, ELVA VIRGINIA
MITCHELL, Elva Virginia, 89, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, December 19,
1993 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va. Born September 20, 1904 in
Cambria, Va., she was the daughter of the late Maurice H. and Della A.
Mitchell. Miss Mitchell was a graduate of Christiansburg High School. She was
the hostess for the Palette Art Gallery for 25 years. She was a member of the
McDaniel Chapter, No. 47, Order of the Eastern Star, and the National Society
Daughters of the American Revolution, Col. William Christian Chapter. Miss
Mitchell is survived by one brother, William Blair Mitchell, Roanoke; nieces,
June Ellen M. Pankey and husband, Kenneth, Richmond, Teresa M. Price, Denton,
Md., Marion M. Wilson, Los Angeles, Calif.; nephews, Maurice L. (Buck)
Mitchell and wife, Bonnie, Roanoke, David C. Mitchell and wife, Bobbie,
Chesterfield, William M. Mitchell, Santa Rosa, Calif.; also a number of
great-nieces and nephews. Services are to be officiated by Rev. Richard H.
Horne at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 1993 at the Richardson-Horne Funeral
Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery. Any memorials may be
made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. The
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the
Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
