THINKING OF THOSE IN NEED

During this time of year when we are bustling about in preparation for the holidays, I hope you will take time to slow down and think about so many of our neighbors who are still in need. Through the dedicated efforts of many volunteers, the United Way of Montgomery County and Radford has raised $760,000 toward its goal of $780,000. This is a tremendous credit to our community, but we still need your help to meet the overwhelming needs of our neighbors in Montgomery County and Radford.

As you might know, United Way partner agencies deliver services to people throughout our community every day of every month of every year providing the spirit of giving on a daily basis to our neighbors.

It has often been said it is in giving that we receive. Since working on the campaign, I have become more aware of our community's needs. Words cannot define what I have received from serving as United Way campaign chairwoman. It truly has been a pleasure to participate in our United Way efforts and to receive the gifts of joy, comfort, peace, hope and understanding - many of the gifts which are elements of this holiday season.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, I invite you to give to the United Way so that you, too, can receive these precious gifts and further contribute to the multitude of human service needs of our community.

Contact the United Way of Montgomery County and Radford at 381-2066 for more information on how you can help your neighbors in the New River Valley.
