PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY CAR, KILLED

A Danville man was struck by a car and killed Friday night as he was stepping off a curb on Williamson Road in Roanoke.

George E. Arnold, 60, was hit in the southbound lane of Williamson Road at the intersection with Clover Avenue Northwest, city police said.

A van driven by Gary R. Fitzsimmons of Goodview struck Arnold at 11 p.m. Friday, police said.
