OBIT-HUMPHREYS, JOSEPH M.

HUMPHREYS, Joseph M., 80, of Buena Vista, died Friday, December 24, 1993 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born December 29, 1912 in Buena Vista the son of the late John and Laura Belle Bates Humphreys. He retired in 1986 from Reeves Bros. as a project engineer. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dollie Harrison Humphreys. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bates Humphreys; two daughters, Betty Decker of Buena Vista, Jo Ann Smith of Rustburg; one son, Steve Humphreys of Bridgewater; one stepdaughter, Linda Bates Coleman of Buena Vista; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, 1993 at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Bain officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lomax Funeral Home.
