OBIT CARTER, MRS. VIRGINIA FRANKLIN
CARTER, Mrs. Virginia Franklin, ("Gee Gee"), 96, of Lexington, died
Saturday, December 25, 1993, in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was born
August 22, 1897, in Lexington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church
and was a retired housekeeper for the late Dr. R. S. Munger and Mrs. Elizabeth
Munger. Surviving are a son, Mr. Edward Carter; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca
Jones and Mrs. Constance Harris, all of Lexington; 9 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Constance
Harris, 112 Taylor Street, at any time and at the Lewis Funeral Home on Monday
evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December
28, 1993, 11 a.m., in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Willie E.
Butler, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American
Diabetes Association Virginia Affiliate, Inc., 404-8th Street, N.E., Suite C,
Charlottesville, Va. 22902. Arrangements are being handled by the J. B. Lewis
Funeral Service.
