OBIT LYONS, WILLIAM EDWARD
LYONS, William Edward, 79, of Route 1, Rural Retreat, died Saturday,
December 25, 1993 in the Holston Valley Regional Medical Center in Kingsport,
Tenn. He was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Rural Retreat and a
member of Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. He is survived by a daughter and
son-in-law, Janet and Claude Edwards of Dublin; three sons and
daughters-in-law, David Lyons, Bernie and Debbie Lyons, Buddy and Elizabeth
Lyons, all of Rural Retreat; four sisters, Myrtle Catron, Lucy Patton, both of
Independence, Mable Evans of Timonium, Md., Nellie Hale of Parkville, Md.; a
brother, George Lyons of Fork, Md.; a special friend, Ruth Davidson of Rural
Retreat; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild;
two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will will be held 11 a.m.
Tuesday, December 18, 1993 from the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Fred E. Jennings and the Rev. Michael Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow
in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cedar Springs with military
rites being conducted by Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family sincerely
requests that those whom prefer may make memorials to the Rural Retreat
Emergency Service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home or at the residence at any time. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural
Retreat is in charge of arrangements.
