OBIT HYPES, RUTH KEFFER
HYPES, Ruth Keffer, 68, of Newport, passed away Sunday, December 26, 1993,
at her home. She was an employee of VPI for over 25 years. She is preceded in
death by her husband, Robert F. Hypes; parents, Ray and Grace Keffer; one
brother, Wayne Keffer. She is survived by 5 children, Larry Hypes, New Castle,
Linda Caldwell, New Castle, Peggy Linkous, Newport, Beverly Frango, New
Castle, Perry Hypes, New Castle; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Charlie Keffer, Newport, Kent Keffer, New Castle and a very
special friend, Chris Baber. Funeral services will be at Boitnott Funeral Home
Chapel, 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, with the Rev. Alvin Radford and the
Rev. Scott Vernon officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The
family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Newport Rescue Squad
or Simmonsville Fire Department.
